Designed by Alec Issigonis (who later designed the Mini) as a competitor to the German Beetle and French 2CV, the Morris Minor was officially unveiled to the public in 1948 and became the first British car to sell more than one million units. Over the duration of its production until 1971 models include the Saloon, the Convertible, the Traveller (which had wooden components in the body frame), the Van and Pickup Truck. The car was undoubtedly a success story of its time and remains a recognisable iconic vehicle of a past age.
