For one month of the year the world's largest arts festival takes place at The Edinburgh International Festival which attracts performers, both professional and amateur, of all kinds, from all over the world. At the start of the Festival the performers parade along Princes Street in a cavalcade which attracts large crowds of spectators. This year about 50,000 people lined the route.
