Britannia Panopticon Music Hall

Built in 1857 and enduring a colourful history , the Panopticon's interior, from the first floor up, seems to have survived relatively untouched from its time of closing in 1938 to the present day.

It's now in a state of disrepair through neglect, a situation which would seem to be the reason for its survival as the only untouched/undeveloped Victorian theatre to exist in Scotland, all the more remarkable since its location is in the main shopping centre of Glasgow.

This building has been a music hall, a cinema, a zoo, waxwork museum, a freak show, an amusement arcade, and partly used as a store for a tailer's shop.

The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall Trust and its friends would like to restore the theatre to its former glory.
