After the coldest winter in Scotland for 100 years a huge volume of ice floated down the River Ayr as a slight thaw set in.
The ice floe, static for the moment, has gathered over about a mlie and a half , the bridge for the A77 providing an ideal vantage point from which to view this one-off spectacle.
